How soon do you need to get cooked food into the freezer?

I made a couple of fish pies last night and put them in the fridge. I meant to put one of them in the freezer but forgot. Is it too late?

Of course not

Freezing basically pauses the spoiling process. So, if it went into the fridge fairly pronto and you normally expect things to keep for five days in there, you'll get five days of usable life either side of the period it's frozen.

Freeze immediately after cooking - keep for five days after it's come out. Freeze on day 3 - two days after it comes out. And so on.

Roughly.

Thanks. It's now in the freezer. DD will be pleased not be having fish pie three days running Grin
