Easter cake ideas, not Simnel

I'd like to make an Easter Cake. But my DM can't really eat chocolate - or not that much and I don't really feel like making a Simnel Cake as I don't really like them anyway!

I also have some nice sugar flowers I bought and decorated a birthday cake with recently.

So any ideas for this cake please? Maybe mocha?

Angel cake? It's very light, you can add flavours like lemon

Personally I don't think you can beat a good old Victoria sponge. And sugar flowers would go very nicely on that. You can vary the jam - I usually use apricot because I love it.

Easter always makes me think of creamy,lemony,almondy
(Not sure if lemon and almond would go together but almond and apricot do)

I'd do a LemonDrizzle Cake ( Mary Berry recipe is brilliant) in a loaf tin, then split into layers lengthways .
Layer of good lemon curd to re-assemble then coverthe sides with buttercream and toasted almonds
Layer of lemon glace icing on top
( I did try lemon buttercream once but maybe too much lemon? )

I'm maybe thinking of Angel cake - as I made a lemon cake (not drizzle) but with lemon curd buttercream filling etc for SIL's birthday recently. It was nice.

Lemon and pistachio cake is very fresh and spring like.

My dd made this a few years ago for Easter.
It's basically a round battenburg cake: you can flavour each colour as you choose , sandwich together with your favourite jam/buttercream and cover with marzipan.
Raspberry and vanilla,
Lemon and orange (with lemon curd)
Cherry and almond
All work.
