Home alone and COVID positive. Ultimate comfort food?

I don't have it too bad, to be honest so I am okay to cook but not go out and buy ingredients.
I don't want to order a takeaway for the second night with it just being me.

What would you cook as a comfort food? I fancy something carby but not macaroni cheese...

Thanks.

Sausage, mash & onion gravy. My crave food when I'm not well.

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 26/03/2022 16:43

Came onto the thread thinking Mac n cheese 😂

How about one of these

cheese toasties and Heinz tomato soup
Pizza with added cheese and whatever toppings you have to hand
Bacon or sausage sandwich
Crisp sandwich

Tacos? Given you’re not going out you can wear those sauce/salsa/guacamole stained pyjamas with pride.

Just the right amount of drippy goo, proper crunch and of course cheese.

Thanks. Keep them coming!

@EdgeOfSeventeenAndThreeQuarter

That reminds me, I love doing nachos with salsa and cheese in the oven and then serving it with lashings of sour cream.

Potato waffles and beans Smile

TheGonnagle · 26/03/2022 16:49

Sausage, egg, chips and beans. Best feeling rubbish dinner ever.

BrokenRecords · 26/03/2022 16:52

Order a takeaway. Chinese or Indian or dominos

Pipersouth · 26/03/2022 16:53

Full English for one - if you can’t go out, it doesn’t matter that there is lots of washing up. Take your time with eating and leave the clearing up to fully enjoy

Chips and cheese
Chips and curry sauce
Chip butty
Any kind of pie

RinklyRomaine · 26/03/2022 20:44

Egg, bacon and tinned tomatoes on toast then homemade rice pudding.

octoegg · 26/03/2022 20:53

Not exactly a meal, but I just discovered crumpets topped with melted cheese done under the grill. Ohh they're good.

TroysMammy · 26/03/2022 20:57

@octoegg do you like marmite? If so spread it on the crumpet before melting the cheese.

I like spaghetti carbonara.

BirdyBee · 26/03/2022 21:02

Toad in the hole, mash and gravy, or eggy bread, hope you get better soon x

xsquared · 26/03/2022 21:06

Thank you all. I will save some of these ideas. I ended up doing spaghetti having seen another thread about it!
