My mum's got Covid so we won't be seeing my parents unfortunately.

Which means I'm cooking....

What are you planning on eating for lunch on Sunday if you aren't going out?

We’re having a bbq.

Topbird29 · 25/03/2022 20:02

Just us here as mil due to be with other son, and seeing her tomorrow anyway. I'm not cooking, so lunch will prob be eggs and toast / cheese on toast. Then dh getting fish and chip tea in the evening!

Magnificentbeast · 25/03/2022 20:49

We're isolating. Dh asked what I would like for lunch/dinner so I decided on a massaman curry. Looking forward to it.

SparkleSpangle · 25/03/2022 21:13

We are having my mum, dad and dsis over for a BBQ. DH is doing the cooking. I will probably have to do the prep so might do it tomorrow so I can enjoy the day.

@CoQ10

Here is the Bakewell Tart cheesecake recipe. It is HUGE I didn't realise how big the recipe was.

I bet brisket from the butcher but supermarkets sell brisket too.

My parents are coming to me, I'd have done a roast dinner but I can't be arsed with the washing up so I'm making risotto instead. Haven't decided on pudding yet.

YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp · 26/03/2022 18:04

Cold chicken and chips with pickled red cabbage and salad.
I cba to cook tomorrow, I’d rather be outside pootling around in the garden or sat reading in the sun before the weather reverts to winter
and that’s our summer gone

WeDontShutUpAboutBruno · 26/03/2022 18:06

I'm doing a bbq tomorrow. Can't wait.

DisforDarkChocolate · 26/03/2022 18:07

Roast beef
Yorkshire puddings
Roast potatoes and parsnips
Carrots and broccoli
Then Trifle.

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 26/03/2022 18:33

I’ve bought a Tescos Thai meal for 2 & as the portions are usually pretty small, we’ll add extra jasmine rice & snacks eg spring rolls.

SFisnotsimple · 26/03/2022 19:05

Not cooking no fucking way it's MOTHERS DAY

My day off

We never eat out

So we are eating out. I booked it, natch. Local vineyard. So mainly drinking rather than eating 🤣

My mum is coming too and neither of us are driving Grin

BeyondMyWits · 26/03/2022 19:06

MIL is coming, one (of 2) Dd home from uni, I'm cooking roast chicken, roasties, cauli, carrot& swede mash, stuffing, gravy and Yorkshire pud.

Followed by M&S Profiteroles.

JemimaMuddledUp · 26/03/2022 19:11

M&S Mother's Day Dine In meal deal.

I think we're having lamb, roast potatoes, honey roast carrots, red cabbage, cheesy greens and gravy followed by key lime pie.

Teenage DC plan to reheat cook it.

That looks wonderful!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 27/03/2022 09:32

For the first time ever we are having lunch out on Mother's Day, booked by my daughter. Looking forward to it!

My own mother is hundreds of miles away but I will see her next week, ferries permitting.

Got end of Covid, DP at work, kids at a competition all day. Got a Jamie Oliver Mushroom Tagiatelle meal kit from Tesco. Boiled fresh pasta, drained it, stirred mushroom sauce, chopped walnuts, grated cheese (from kit) and handful of spinach from fridge. Took 4 mins. Delicious. Not too salty. Tasted home made. (I usually find RMs inedible) I got it yellow sticker, wouldn't pay full price of £4 but I think I'd pay £3. Kids eating supper at a Motorway Service Station. They are excited.

TheWatersofMarch · 27/03/2022 17:18

@Swifey40 I did same 6 months ago. There's a fantastic Fractured Ankle Recovery group on FB that got me through. Good luck for your recovery.

Jmaho · 27/03/2022 17:20

I do all the cooking at home and my only stipulation is that I don't cook on Mothers Day! We did try to book a table but left it a bit late. My eldest then tested positive for covid so we didn't bother ringing arou d elsewhere. I'm going to have whatever takeaway he chooses as he has barely eaten in 3 days and want him to have something he fancies. Will probably end up being Mcdonalds
