One can only dream as I have super fussy children and dh. But I'm not fussy at all and eat a huge range of things and not to wish my life away, but when the kids move out I dream of having lovely rich flavourful meals

If it was just up to you with no expense/waste to think of what would you have?

A few of mine would be steak, peppercorn sauce, chips and veg

I'd try lots of different Greek foods

Lasagnes/chillis filled with loads of lovely veggies (instead of smooth passata and that's it/have to cook a veg one separately)

Stews, again filled with lots of veg

I'd try loads of meals from around the world

I would like a pill I could swallow 3x day, with all nutrients and calories required, and that magically made me feel satiated as well. Alternatively, enough money to eat out most of the time. I'm not overly fussed about food in general, and not that keen of a cook, either. Food is necessary for survival, and I do like chocolate a bit too much, but otherwise meh.

A pill like that would be incredibly useful. I looked into Huel to see if that would work, but it's more expensive than I thought it would be plus there were some issues with it I wasn't totally happy with. I did try it when they were doing sample packs but didn't like the taste very much either.

It could literally be a life saver! I'll see what I can do. Grin

Probably not what you were getting at but
When my DH goes away I have beans on toast. They make me trump so much it’s horrific. Even the cat gets off my lap with the after effects of baked beans for dinner. So it’s a solitary pleasure.

Offal, offal and more offal. I love the stuff. DH won't eat it.

Lots of the best wine. Every day.

@PermanentTemporary

Ds leaves home this October, I'm going to have a year off cooking. Given the choice I would have delicious things from a deli counter every day, artichoke hearts and olives and cheese with crackers, huge leafy salads with the odd flatbread. And otherwise, toast and marmite.
I would swap the marmite for marmalade but would happily go with your choices. I’d much rather have delicious bits to pick at than cooking a family meal every night. I can’t wait until September too, then I’m free from dinner cooking duty. 😂

I am like Pollys, I like easy, informal meals (love leftovers) and I just hate having to plan and cook meals that are a compromise between what I like and what my DH likes ... he does cook (he cooked tonight) ... but I would have been just as happy with cheese and crisps Grin.

Steak and salad
Beef rendang with saag aloo and all the dips, naans etc
Thai banquet (authentic green Thai curry, chicken satay, tom yum, chilli king prawns, pad Thai - though this would be subject to change!)
Seafood platter with lobster, mussels, scallops, crab, fresh fish, king prawns etc
Really amazing sushi, sashimi etc
Deli/charcuterie type thing with amazing meats, cheeses, olives, quiche, salad, dips, fresh bread
Really good homemade pizza and salad

All followed by fresh tropical fruit salad and some sort of light fruity mousse/frozen yoghurt/sorbet or similar

Oh to be rich and single (with an amazing metabolism Grin)

Fillet Steak, chips, creamed spinach
A really lovely pie and mash maybe chicken and mushroom
Crab, chorizo gnocchi (John Waite)
Hairy bikers chilli and nachos
A cheeseboard and nibbly food with sourdough
Duck stir fry

Would be skint and size of a house!
