its a great big white box in our kitchen that warms milk, cooks scrambled agg and once in a blue moon jacket potatos.

Oh and ds3 warms his pain du chocolat in it..
waste of space really.

sorry!

chocoholic · 05/01/2008 16:25

Warm milk, jacket potatoes, fish in sauce um, struggling now, soften butter.
Thats about it really.
Oh, nearly forgot, great for making treacle sponges in (if I could remember the receipe!)

ours warms milk and defrosts

i'd get rid if ds would drink cold milk!

sunflowervalley · 05/01/2008 16:27

Oh yes, syrup sponges turn out great in the micro, and save hours of steaming.

I heat up loads of stuff in ours, but don't cook a huge amount in it.

Oh, I do use it for making white/cheese sauce, as well as scrambled eggs and porridge.

somersetmum · 05/01/2008 16:45

Defrost bread, warm milk for my coffee , jacket potatoes, frozen peas. We used it at Christmas to melt chocolate to make the Nigella fudge.

We are going to relegate it to the utility, when the utility gets built

FlorenceFarkingNightingale · 05/01/2008 16:58

Oh yes I nearly always cook frozen peas and sweetcorn in mine too.

I prefer baked potatoes to actually be baked.

TheGorgeousMrsSithy · 05/01/2008 17:05

jacket spuds, melting chocolte, warming stuff like baked beans, spaghetti, sweetcorn, gravy (when you dont have enough hob space) ready meals (but thats more the one that dh uses in work). Oh those individual sponge puds that you get in m&s they only take about 90 seconds,

janeite · 05/01/2008 17:24

Frozen vege, milk for lattes, porridge, jelly melting. That's about it except for cooking rice, which I always do in a rice cooker in the microwave; if you can get a rice cooker for the microwave I can heartily recommend it; perfect rice every time.

missnevermind · 05/01/2008 17:44

Steam veg
Cook rice

I use mine all the time. I just cant think what for!!!

Handy for drying clothes in an emergency. Downside is occasional burnt clothes
