other than sandwiches/canapes/quiche/pasta sauce, how can I use the pack of smoked salmon I've got in my freezer? Thanks.

Comeoveneer - that sounds lovely - directions to recipe please

Would you eat smoked salmon dated 2nd Jan? Just discovered half a pack in the fridge I forgot about. Smells ok but I'm a bit nervous.

In theory no, it's a use by date so don't push it. Smell is not the first indicator of a problem in this sort of product, sliminess is - prob is you can't check this on a fish which is slimy when good anyway

arghhh!! Having said I'd had enough smoked salmon over Christmas, and still have one in the freezer, have just bought 2 packs from Sainsburys. Scottish smoked salmon, originally £9.99 then £4.99 and now.... 99p. Well within use by date so have frozen and will enjoy using all your suggestions over the next few weeks! (Children enjoyed smoked salmon in pitta bread, dipped into pepper and tomato soup for tea)

I have a recipe...somewhere....for smoked salmon and cannellini bean dip, but it's more like a pate.

I remember there being cannelini beans, sm. salmon, lemon juice, dill and creme fraiche in it, but the rest escapes me for the moment, if you want the recipe I'll have a look through my (out-of-control) cookbook collection.

It was delish, btw, we had it with crispy baked pitta shreds and too much white wine.

That sounds delicious and different, keeptakingthetablets. Yes please, when you have the time. No urgency, salmon is in the freezer.
