I was disappointed with this.

The sauce was thin and watery.

What did I do wrong?

I know people say this but I genuinely laugh snorted at this thread, the cat jumped off my lap and is now glaring at me

@ChardonnaysPetDragon

The sauce was thin and watery

That's the least of the problems with chicken and raspberry jam.

Why would anyone even think of using raspberry jam on chicken? What are they? Barbarians?

I feel there are no more words for me to write. 😂

It's a Veronique sauce I believe.

But JAM and chicken? Err nope

Pinkstegosaurus · 04/02/2022 23:18

I could perhaps understand (at a push) raspberry jam used as part of a ham glaze but other than that only jam and toast for me

ABitOfAShitShow · 04/02/2022 23:23

And this is exactly why I don’t eat cranberry on turkey. Same thing.

‘It's a Veronique sauce I believe.’

@longtompot Giving it a fancy name doesn’t make it any better. Wink

We have a grape, sausage and gravy recipe ( from a tesco recipe card in the 90's) which is actually pretty tasty.

AdaColeman · 04/02/2022 23:47

Veronique sauce is a classic, usually served with sole, but I can imagine it working well with chicken.

Plum sauce with duck is delicious, and I often add redcurrant jelly to chicken gravy, so chicken and raspberry sauce could work too.

It’s not that different to any sweet and sour type dish or even turkey and cranberry sauce. Or like IKEA meatballs with gravy and lingonberry jam.

Dustyblue · 06/02/2022 05:58

It doesn't sound quite vile enough. Add a splash of bourbon and some curry powder, then you might have something.

PrettyBluebells · 06/02/2022 06:27

Fuck me, that sounds revolting!
