Your favourite cheeses?

I'm looking to try cheese from other areas, my favourites are Beauvale Cropwell Bishop and Sharpham Brie

Love goats cheese but not yet found a creamy favourite not fussed about cheddar.

Any suggestions for me please?

But actually cheddar, because I live abroad and getting hold of a good cheddar is impossible. It's all bright orange rubbery stuff called Elizabeth.

Another vote for Black Bomber - a gorgeously strong, umani cheddar. Very creamy - spreadable at room temperature.

Also as a cheese fan, I'm spreading the word for a pizza I ate once at Penzance Lido - add goats cheese, red onion marmalade, rosemary & a drizzle of honey to a basic margarita. Amazing

Another vote for baron bigod. If you order direct from them you can also get a truffle version which is amazing.

Cambozola Blue. Delicious.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 31/01/2022 23:45

All cheese except for the sweaty lumps marked 'mild' in the supermarket and Edam.

What I really miss, though, is Havarti. Haven't seen that around for years and it was perfect for cheese on toast soldiers to dip into a soft boiled egg.

In case it's not clear, I really miss cheese.

Parthenay is a wonderful creamy French goats cheese. Hard to find here.

Capricorn is pretty good if you leave it to ripen at least a week.

ABitOfAShitShow · 01/02/2022 00:48

All the cheeses. I don’t discriminate.

But also. Comte in an omelette is just…🤤

Garstang White - not sure if it's limited to NW?

Comté and Pie D’angloise , and vacherin when can find it. Also quite like gruyère. We use a lot of cheddar (Mature usually ) and Parmesan too and mozzarella

Sainsbury's Abergavenny goats cheese is delicious on pizza and tarts. DH and I recently had our nectar card summary and apparently it was our most purchased itemHmm. Until we saw it we would have assumed it was potatoes.

HavfrueDenizKisi · 04/02/2022 20:29

Obviously comté and ossau-iraty, especially with a blob of blackcurrant jam. Mmmmm.

BoodleBug51 · 04/02/2022 20:35

Green's farmhouse cheddar is amazing (sold by Riverford)

Duchy Organic cheddar extra mature

Brie. Any brie. All brie.

And my absolute fave is the wild garlic Le bouse that's only around for a month or so in spring.
