Can I use macaroni instead of lasagne?

I have receipt for a veggie lasagne. Recipe is for 6 people but it's just 2 of us. Plus I don't have the quantities specified.

I was thinking it would probably be fine if I follow the basic principles but use macaroni instead of lasagne sheets. It will be more like a pasta bake then, but easier to do a smaller quantity.

What does Mumsnet think?

Yes you can, you just don't call it 'lasagne'.

It'll be fine.
Cook the pasta for half the time on the packet first. Any longer it'll be soggy as it finishes cooking in the sauce.

There's an amazing BBC good food recipe for macaroni cheese lasagna which uses Mac n cheese instead of lasagne and white/cheese sauce you could adapt?
