DH has bought a tefal airfryer on Amazon. Dubious as it's just a convection oven is it not? Does it use less energy? What's the benefits?

Also Please let me know if you have any nice non oil recipes you have tried and tested!

I've got the Phillips Airfryer, there are recipes on the website & there's also an app that could be useful.
You can't fry without oil/fat, but a teaspoon of oil for chips for 2 is far healthier.
I also use it as a small fan oven; it heats up very quickly & it's much cheaper than using a full-size oven

I love my air fryer, I thought it might end up being relegated to the back of the cupboard but I use it loads, I rarely switch on my main oven these days which has got to be saving some energy. I've not tried anything oil-free though.
Things I've cooked recently are; halloumi, tofu, roasted veg, fish fingers, "boiled" eggs, roast dinner for one - roast potatoes, veg, stuffing balls, Yorkshire puddings(frozen!).

is a really interesting, and fairly short, video on the topic.

I did homemade chips in ours for the first time recently and they were incredible. Tossed them in a tiny bit of oil and then shook over some Nando’s spice mix. Gave them a shake a couple of times during cooking.

We also use ours to do chicken katsu as the breadcrumbs go nice and crispy without the need for a pan full of oil.

Freezer food is always good as well. Things like the Itsu frozen gyozas, duck rolls and chicken nuggets. All need much less time than in the oven and they come out lovely and crispy.
