short crust pastry out of date

Got some short crust pastry (in a packet ready rolled) in fridge which I meant to use by 7th January (was originally for mince pies).

Can I still use it by now or chuck it?

Sniff it and see, it likely will be absolutely fine

Pastry often gets black splodges when it is past its best. I it looks and smells fie, I'd use it.

The edges of the block may be drier and crack when you roll it out. Cut them off and proceed!
