Granola bars

Hi,

I have been making my own granola bars and although they are absolutely delicious, they do not always stick together which can make them difficult to cut. Anyone with any good tips to make the mixture more cohesive or are there any fool proof recipes out there? Thanks.

These sound lovely! Aside from the dried fruit, I have all the ingredients…. I have dried figs though. Might try that!

@ANewDoll

I've just had a look at your link and, looking at the reviews, others seem to have experienced similar problems. Solutions they've suggested include experimenting with adding more butter or honey, or cutting in the tin whilst hot.

I think I might try the recipe, too!

Nigella's breakfast bars are so easy and delicious

Condensed milk in the mixture does a great job of gluing everything together and making them nice and chewy.
I use the legendary Soupdragon’s recipe www.mumsnet.com/Talk/housekeeping/1583844-Please-share-your-flapjack-recipes and omit/reduce the sugar for standard flapjacks. For granola bars, just sub some of the oats for dried fruit and nuts/seeds.
Also extra calcium!
