Both from BBC Good Food
Sweet potato and black bean chilli with zesty quinoa (is very tomatoey
and
Satay sweet potato curry (delicious)

I've made them both this evening as I had a glut of sweet potatoes.
We have guests coming tomorrow evening.
We have prawns in the fridge plus some cooked chicken.
We have rice and other cupboard staples.
I have time to shop tomorrow lunchtime.
Nobody is vegan.
What shall I add / serve with / tweak with / do as a side dish?

TIA

I wouldn’t bring the prawns out - they would likely be drowned out. The chicken would work well, just keep it plain so as not to fight flavour wise. Stock up on flatbread types and green salad. Sour cream on the side?

Something lemony for dessert to counteract all that sweet potato soft texture.

Flatbread/naan and naan, mango chutney or a simple onion, tomato & cucumber salad with the curry ( toss the salad in a little vinegar and sugar 👍 )

Tortillas, cheese with the chilli 👍

Rice obviously. Maybe throw in some cashew nuts and cocoanut milk.

I bought a spicy lime pickle by mistake (to go with poppadums) but mixed with apple sauce it is a zingy addition.

If you are using the prawns then I'd suggest as a starter, make an updated 'prawn cocktail' shredded lettuce in the bottom, prawns cooked simply and then a lemon juice and zest sauce, there are a few ways to make it but I think I would go for 50/50 mayo and Greek yoghurt with some lemon zest.
