Forgot baking powder!

Made a chocolate cake with plain flour and forgot the baking powder! Needless to say it's very flat Sad

Is it worth decorating? Can I turn it into brownies? Or bin? Don't want to chop a bit off to taste it if I could rescue it somehow!

I’d still eat it. It’s provably just much more dense than usual. I’ve done the same and used it as the bottom of a chocolate cherry trifle (Nigella’s recipe). That was very nice.

I've got teens so there is no way it would go in the bin. They'd probably laugh at me and then eat it anyway.

Flat cake is better than no cake Smile

Make it into trifle.

Thanks for suggestions. Didn't have time for trifle but smothered it with cream. Edible but not sure it's worth the calories!

Not sure if you have any left, but would blitzing it in a food processor and making cake pops be better than trying to eat it whole?

Smash it up with melted choc and cream, chocolate mess?

Crumble it up, make another cake, use as rustic deco?

It'll taste ok though, just dense and thick. Which isn't such a bad outcome for chocolate cake!
