Does anyone here have the Aldi Ambiano halogen air fryer? I have just taken mine out of the box and set it up but had hoped for more detailed cooking info. Like can I just out a layer of chipped potatoes in or can I pile them up? I have never air fryed before so not sure what the golden rules are. Any advice or recipes would great. Thanks so much

DSis swears by hers so I have been quizzing her for several months because I can’t figure out if it’s a good idea or if it will just end up cluttering up the counter.

She says chips (& most things) single layer or they won’t crisp where they are touching each other. I’ve asked her how you figure out the times for things eg if it says oven for 30 mins. she has been using hers so long now she just knows and she would start off at least halving the time but occasionally checking it. Seems more hard work to me if I have to keep checking but she raves about it.

Does the aldi one look big enough & look easy to clean?

Interested to see people responses to figure out if one would be worth it.

As a general air fryer user: don’t put too many in and shake frequently - prob 2 layers

I bought what looks like the same thing a few years ago, but it was just called a halogen oven then.
Very noisy, bright light constantly on & off, difficult to clean, lid was very awkward, died just after the guarantee expired. I'd never buy a halogen oven again -regardless of make.
However, I've got a Phillips Airfryer that I'm very pleased with. It's also very good as a fan oven for small quantities, as well as being an Airfryer.

Thanks for the replies. I should have read them before attempting to use it!! Piled too many chips on so some didn't cook. Kids complained that they tasted of cardboard!! The light going off and on was awful, it's so bright! I'll need to give it another try but it's not looking like a good match for us so far!
