Birthday cake help needed for a complete novice

Hello all- does anyone have any suggestions or advice on how to come up with some kind of Peppa pig creation for my DDs first birthday? I’m clueless, can make and decorate a basic Victoria sponge but don’t know how far to attempt to go technically beyond that in terms of decoration.

Should I buy ready made characters to go on top? Should I attempt some kind of 2D design instead?! Please help me figure out what is realistically attainable for someone who doesn’t really know what they’re doing. The party is next Saturday 22nd.

V grateful for any help 🙌 and any pics!!

I made a round Victoria sponge. I just bought the characters from Etsy, covered with pink icing and the sides with sprinkles and edible glitter.

Victoria sponge.
Put jam on it.
Roll on icing from supermarket over the jam.
Stick on pre-made figures.

Stick on the premade figures bonus points if they are toys she can play with afterwards

Thank you so much- have ordered a couple of things from eBay/Etsy so hopefully I can make something passable. Thanks for the advice!

A good compliment to the cake would be the Peppa Pig Jelly that Asda and Waitrose sell.
