Went with my mum to asda at 1am this morningm its the only time I could go and dont drive so cant go out again,

the cheapest turkey wwas £30.40!

Guess who's having chicken this christmas?!

If I start saving Jan 1st I may be able to afford one nextyear

I could probably find a cheaper one somewhere, but with the wedding and all christmas hadn't even crossed my mind and I havent really gotthe transport to shop around.

Shitty.

I laughed when DH said he'd just put out some turkeys in Asda priced at £50. Went to collect ours yesterday (admittedly an organic, free-range one from our local farm-shop) and paid... £48.50 for it! For 2 of us (plus DD 16mths)! That'll teach me - especially as they had plenty in Tesco yesterday and in Sainsburys this morning. Thank goodness it's only once a year!

southeastastra · 24/12/2007 14:26

maybe it's easier to buy a turkey chick and fatten it up all year.

Nightynight · 24/12/2007 14:50

ours cost 8 quid and I muttered a bit over that. (7 lb)

it is not organic, but is french and therefore good quality, french turkeys taste brilliant.

8 quid!!! Blimey mine cost 4 times that and a bit more and I had to supply ds to feed the damn thing!
