I need inspiration please!
2 fussy (terribly so) children. Neither will eat potato.
I don’t want to start the year in a rut!

This is Saturday to Wednesday, but probably won’t be much help to you because I don’t cook for fussy eaters. That doesn’t mean my children aren’t fussy sometimes, but I cook what me and DH want, and if my children don’t like it, they can take it or leave it.
Feta traybake
Chickpea stew with the rest of the pitta breads
Frittata with the remaining feta
Soup and ciabatta
Risotto using the rest of the pesto and tomatoes
I’ll get my head in gear and get the remainder of the week sorted soon….

Here’s mine
Baked falafel, Moroccan cous cous and salad.
Paprika chicken tray bake (chicken breasts, peppers, courgette, red onion, baby new potatoes.
Root veg casserole with broccoli and green beans
Shakshuka
Chickpea, cauliflower and red pepper curry.
Gammon with chilli and pineapple relish, sweet potato wedges, peas and grilled tomatoes.
Baked Tuna, sweet potato, chilli and red pepper fishcakes, home made apple and yoghurt slaw and corn on the cob.

Could you give more likes and dislike for your dc, then we might me able to give more suggestions?

foodaddict21 · 03/01/2022 14:49

How old are the DC? Can they help look for recipes or food they'd like to try & help cook? Mine all wolf down something they've chosen & helped to cook.

Can you simplify things so the kids have pasta pesto/an omelette/something simple and you and OH have something a bit more exciting?

Examples - they get plain omelettes, cucumber batons etc / you get mushroom omelettes and nice salad
they get pasta pesto and cherry tomatoes / you get pasta pesto with roasted vege and spinach
they get fishfingers, chips and peas / you get fishfinger tacos

Thanks.
I post this about once a year. Eating disorders and ADHD compound the difficulties. I like hearing others’ ideas.

This is our regular food rotation-

Risotto with chicken & bacon
Pasta, either arrabiatta or creamy mushroom, leeks & bacon
Sausage casserole made in slow cooker
Chicken curry made in slow cooker
Breaded fish or chicken with wedges & veg
Fajitas
Chilli
Spaghetti Bolognese
Stir fry

I’m so jealous of all your meals that your kids will eat. My DS doesn’t like food they touches or has sauces on - so he will eat sausage and mash, sausage and pasta, chicken and rice, breaded chicken….. all served with either brocoli / carrots or fruit / cucumber,

I’d love more variety for him!

TheOldLadyOfThreadneedleStreet · 03/01/2022 15:32

Chicken kebabs, crusty baguette and veg sticks
Pasta in tomato sauce with salmon fillet and garlic bread
Chicken loaf, mash and veggies
Beef couscous (with leftover meat from weekend roast) with red pepper, mushroom, onion and sweetcorn

We have paella today, pesto pasta with roasted veg tomorrow, pork chops and veg, salmon traybake with couscous, steak and chips.
