How do they compare as a drink?

I've had the powder one and liked it. Does the jar one taste the same?

I didn't know there was a powdered one ! But I now want a hot bovril with a dash of hot sauce in it

I had my first ever drink of Bovril at Beamish Open Air Museum in the summer. And my 2nd and 3rd, too They told me they were discreetly using the powder, rather than the more authentic jar, simply because it was faster to dissolve and less messy to make in a rush.

I didn't know there was a powdered one either.
I grew up v close to Beamish though, is it still great?

I'm probably a heathen but I make marmite into a drink when I'm really ill sometimes.

Is the powdered one the cubes? If so, I like those.

But I also like licking the jar one off the spoon

Oh, yes! It is great!

I'm feeling poorly and I've been drinking hot Marmite, which is was reminded me about Bovril.

I recall many years ago a group of us were talking about hot beefy type drinks most liked marmite , bovril and oxo in different amounts.
the following day one of the group said they had tried marmite but it was horried , it turned out she had used two dessert spoons ( about half a jar ! ) in a mug .
Now I like marmite but . . . . .
