Silverside of beef

I have a kilo piece of silverside in the freezer. It's rare breed organic (bought for my dad for his Christmas dinner but he passed away just before so didn't need it)

I know it needs slow cooking and it would have just gone in the slow cooker on its own for him, very plain eating man he was.

The only time we, as a family have roast beef is at Christmas when we have rib. Normally we have mince and casserole beef cooked accordingly.

What can I do with this beef? I'd rather not have it plain slow cooked if I can avoid it

Either this honey and mustard or this slightly spicier version.

That spicy recipe looks nice.

I also found this pot roast recipe. French onion is one of my favourite soups

If you have a charcoal bbq, it will end up stunning. A kilo is only small so won’t take long, even on a cold day.
