How to do sweet&sour chicken balls (or the batter at least)

Would like to have a go at making them myself but not sure how to the batter part on the outside of the chicken? Any suggestions? Thanks. xxx

buy a ready made batter mix,,,,,thats the easiest thing to do.....i buy the chip shop style batter from tescos. Its in an orangey coloured box.
