Arthritic hands for using or not using a food processor.

Hi. I hope someone can help. For ages and ages, I couldn't decide between a Kenwood Chef mixer or a Kitchenaid Mixer. I've gone for the Kitchenaid purely because their Black Friday was so good. I also ordered the Food Processor attachment to go with it.
Now here's the problem. The first processor attachment that came, I had to send back. Neither myself or my husband could close the lid. I have arthritic hands but he really doesn't. The replacement has arrived and whilst my husband can just about open and close the lid. I really, really struggle. Now it might be me but does anyone know if it gets easier to use over time?
Also, if anyone uses the Kenwood Mixer Food Attachment, can they tell me if it is easy to open and close the lid?

Thank you so much!!

Maybe not much help, but I have trouble getting the bowl out of my kenwood chef sometimes. That's not so much about arthritic hands as just not being able to get a good grip on it and nothing to brace against when I try to pull it out.

I have a Cuisinart food processor and the lid for that just pops on. An older version of this one

Thank you KillingEvenings. I've only just purchased the mixer and food processor attachment. I just wondering if it's best to send it all back. I really don't want to but I won't use it if it doesn't ease at all
