Are you strict only specifically tortellini or open to other fresh filled pasta shapes?

Aldi do a great Wild Porcini Mushroom & Truffle one. It's in their "Specially Selected" range and there is a fair few other tasty sounding ones in it too.

Best ever one was Asda Extra Special Pumpkin and Pine Nut, it was so good I went back the next week for more and it wasn't on the shelves, it had been discontinued. This happened in 2014 and I'm still not over it. Other pumpkin ones I have tried just don't match up.

I was also going to suggest Morrison’s. I bought some from Sainsbury’s and Aldi recently, but it’s not the same. We get the mushroom one (my favourite), spinach and ricotta (fine anywhere actually) and my partner gets a spicy sausage one.

Could actually eat mushroom tortilini right now.

Ihatesw · 09/12/2021 20:17

Other shapes would be fine too!

Tried the M&S one today, was a 7 out of ten. morribobs is a solid 9 though.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen it at M&S. usually bop in there for some bits for lunch or an easy tea. I’ll give it a go.

How do you have yours?

We just drizzle olive oil and add salt and pepper generously!

SummaLuvin · 09/12/2021 20:57

How do you have yours?

The tomato and mascarpone sauce. Always!

Ihatesw · 09/12/2021 22:37

I make a sauce with birra olive oil, onion, garlic, salt, plum tomatoes, peppers and mushrooms, oregano, tomatoe purée and fresh basil 😁

Or the tomato and basil fresh pasta sauce in M&S if I have no inclination to cook

Ugg or Ugo pasta I forget the exact name. It's reassuringly expensive though.

Cantonet · 11/12/2021 15:27

Aldi or Morrisons are good.
I serve mine with the simplest fresh tomato sauce consisting of grated large vine tomato, drizzle of garlic infused olive oil, chopped fresh basil & lots of parmesan.

Titsywoo · 11/12/2021 15:31

I like the morrisons four cheese one or Sainsburys spinach and ricotta

I was going to say the Asda one as well. I still think of it. For me, the M&S butternut squash and sage is just pasta perfection. I have it with a drizzle of olive oil and salt. Oh wish I had some now.

@SummaLuvin Waitrose used to do a very similar pumpkin and pinenut one but I think that has been discontinued too.

M&S ravioli and I make my own lemon butter Parmesan sauce....soooo good!

butterbelle · 12/12/2021 10:44

Waitrose do some very good tortellini.I love the spinach and ricotta and mozzarella and sundries tomato ones 😋

TaleOfTheContinents · 14/12/2021 19:38

@BikeMyCycle - any way you'd share your lemon butter parm sauce recipe? Sounds divine!

BikeMyCycle · 14/12/2021 20:16

It’s literally just butter melted, squeeze some lemon juice in (ideally from an actual lemon but lemon juice from supermarket home baking aisle also works!) and then grated Parmesan. Stir it up and pour on cooked ravioli! Bit of salt n pepper and ta da!
