Is soup bad?

Just opened some tinned soup, it was in date, no dents to can, no bulging of tin. But it had a layer on it, like a skin that was the same colour as the soup, just a layer that was a bit thicker than the rest of the soup. It smelt okay but not sure if I should eat?
Chicken and vegetables chunky soup, tesco.
Not sure so thought I'd ask incase it happens again.

It's just the skin on the soup it will be fine.

Just give it a good stir.

Absolutely fine.

Thanks for replies.
I'd never seen it before, so learn something new every day. Thanks.

I don't like wasting good food and also, I know for if it happens again.

Just a thought - did the label say to shake it before opening?
