and do I need to?? Just made a big batch of mincemeat and I want to put it in jam jars to keep. I can remember someone telling me to put them upside down in an oven but am not sure for how long or at what temperature. Anyone have any suggestions??

TIA

Put them through a dishwasher cycle.

Quickest way is to put them in the microwave with some water in and microwave on high for a couple of minutes till water boils. If you are re-using lids too I would pour some boiling water over them (assuming they are already well washed in dishwasher, etc

boil them.... (or soak them in milton)

Or a hot setting on a dishwasher... not an economy low heat type setting

then put them in an oven on low to dry the water off

bang them in the oven for 10 mins

do you have a mincemeat recipe?
