Biscuits/cookies for Christmas recipes and cherry brandy

I'm after a fairly easy biscuits/cookies for Christmas recipes to bake with my nephew - preferably lower in sugar and butter - can be plain or spiced/gingerbread and also can have icing on.

I also have a bottle of cherry brandy which I used to make a Christmas cake last year - not doing that this year! What else could I use it for? Don't say drinking as I don't think I'd like it plain in a glass!

Soak dried fruit in the cherry brandy before using in a cake. Add it to whipped cream to serve with mince pies or top a trifle. Stir into mincemeat for extra flavour. Feed your Christmas cake with it. Make a fruity tiramisu using it in place of rum or Madeira. Add it to whipped cream used to fill a chocolate Swiss roll with cherry jam to make a Black Forest chocolate log.
