I have just discovered an incredibly simple biscuit recipe and had to share, seriously this takes minutes.

I was making cinnamon biscuits for dd to decorate the tree and I came accross this recipe for simple Italian Vin Santo biscuits. Now I didn't have any Vin Santo in the house but knew it was a very sweet wine so I substituted Triple Sec. they are delicious and literally took about 4 minutes to make.
Mix equal parts of
Sugar
EV Olive Oil
Vin Santo (or Triple Sec or any other sweet alcohol I'd imagine)
until they are well mixed. Add flour to make a kneadable dough.

Roll out until the dough is 1/2 cm thick, cut out shapes, bake on a piece of grease-proof paper on a baking sheet for 20 minutes or until they are slightly coloured.

Voila, dead easy

They would be lovely with ice cream for a dessert.

I assume these are grown-up biscuits then?

CarmenerryChristmas · 15/12/2007 16:55

Well they don't taste even vaguely of alcohol but I suppose safer not to share with the dc's

Well I don't want to disappoint those of you expcting to sedate you lovely children on XMas eve...but 20mins in hte oven should be enough for all traces of alcohol to evapourate....

CarmenerryChristmas · 15/12/2007 23:06

Yes, there was only a very feint orangey flavour left over, feck-all alcohol in the finished biscuit.
