Lamb mince recipe

Can anyone suggest a good lamb mince recipe? Forgot to get the roast out of the freezer last night so now need to improvise and have lamb mince and a reasonably well stocked larder with a good selection of herbs and spices etc but nothing too specialist such as aubergine or feta. My only idea was shepherds pies and unfortunately we had a beef version last week so don't really want it again.

Have you got frozen peas? Make keema matar, serve with rice and if you have flour and natural yoghurt you could knock up some easy flatbreads to go with it.

Rummikub · 21/11/2021 15:50

How do you make the flatbread with yoghurt and flour?

bitboredofitall · 21/11/2021 15:51

How do you make the flatbread with yoghurt and flour?
Just equal quantities of flour and plain yoghurt. Knead and shape then dry fry them until cooked.

We had Keema last week here and the leftovers were even better.

worriedmum20000 · 21/11/2021 15:54

Ooh keema with flatbreads is a good shout and have rice, yogurt etc and most Indian spices. Has anyone got a good recipe?

Rummikub · 21/11/2021 15:55

@MrsPnut

Really that simple??
I must try these.
Thank you!

Fry onions
Add lamb mince
Garlic/ ginger
Tomato purée
Turmeric
Cumin
Coriander
Chilli
Garam masala
1/2 tsp salt
Add either water or run tomatoes
Add peas or spinach or potatoes or chick peas.
Cook for a long time.

@worriedmum20000 I use Nigella’s recipe from Feast but I have also used Cooking Like Mummyji version that Nigella’s is based on.

Lamb lasagna.

I made this initially as a sub for a hindu friend who don't eat beef but it's actually so good it's now my standard.

I just use the classic Delia lasagna recipe.

Or Keema - I like the dishoom recipe.

Glad the keema and flatbreads were a hit!

@Rummikub

How do you make the flatbread with yoghurt and flour?
Grin guessing you aren't a Jamie Oliver fan. Everyone was making these a few years ago after one of his shows.
Rummikub · 21/11/2021 23:46

Ahh I see! That must’ve passed me by.
