Is there an easily available instant custard powder that is safe for coeliacs?

Aren't they normally made of corn anyway?
Think birds custard powder is maize starch based

I think birds instant custard powder doesn't contain gluten and is made in a factory with minimal chance of gluten contamination, but they say it hasn't been tested to prove its 100% gluten free, so not sure if that would be ok for coeliacs.

My son has coeliac and we use birds standard custard powder - it's may contain for milk so think this should be fine. It's not instant but it's very easy and quick to make

Birds ordinary custard powder is OK, but not the instant custard powder. They're not exactly the same so you can't just switch one for the other in recipes.

Morrisons?

Dilbertian · 21/11/2021 18:29

Morrisons doesn't list any gluten ingredients, but neither does it give any guidance on suitability,

If it doesn't have any gluten in the ingredients list and doesn't say 'May contain' then it's fine.

Both of the Morrison's instant custards look like they are fine.
