Ninja Airfryer Grill thing

I've never had an Airfryer but hoping to get either one of these.

If you have one, can you tell me if you think the basket-style is better or the multi-function grill one?

The air fryer is just a super grill though isn’t it? Looks like it’s mostly the size - I have the small one - you can do 2 or 3 chicken breasts in there but the larger one looks like it has a much larger capacity.

@KittenKong - is it the basket style Airfryer you have?

I have a basket style Ninja XL (double basket) and it has revolutionised my kitchen!

middleager · 11/11/2021 11:24

This. Though it comes in XL now.

Ninja Air Fryer MAX AF160UK - it’s very like this one. They are pretty nifty!

middleager - my goodness, that is a monster!

I have the dual zone one. While each zone isn’t enormous, I like that you can do two things at once and sync each side to finish at the same time (even if cooking with different functions.) I’m not one to cook up enormous batches of chips, etc, though

I have the top one and I wasn't expecting much. I was late to the air fryer game but got this about 6 months ago. I bought it mainly for the teens as they were using the oven for single portions of chips/nuggets etc. I have to say I absolutely LOVE IT. It does chips beautifully, all you have to do is shake the basket once or twice. It's not quite as good as a deep fat fryer but better than the oven by miles. It also has a bake function for small cakes and a dehydrate function. It's really helped my teens with snacks and it's one of my favourite kitchen gadgets and reduced my costs by not using the oven as much. The basket is fully dish washer safe to which is brilliant.

Ok I think I am sold on the basket style.

They do an even bigger one now, which I want!

I'm vegetarian, which is why I wanted two baskets. We've now bought the shelves to give us more options.

Just come to say that someone asked for one for Christmas! Black Friday sales are still on their site - but the dual tray ones aren’t available right now (boo) but I got a big beast (they will be very excited when it arrives!!)

Has anyone checked the electricity costs against a fan oven? I'd be really keen to hear.

I've got the Foodi Max Health Grill with the temperature probe and love it. It's got a longer air fry basket so chips cook better imo. I spatchcock a 1.8kg chicken, stick the temp probe into one of the breasts and "roast" at 180. It's fully cooked within an hour. I also love using the grill plate and temperature probe to cook steaks perfectly to my liking.
