Just wondering what other people eat in a day to stay healthy? I love asking people what they're having for their dinner etc so thought I'd ask on here haha!

On a weekday I normally have weetabix with warm milk and cinnamon

Morning snack will be a banana

Lunch I have soup and a piece of fruit. Recently it's been a pear.

For a snack I have a cereal bar or some nuts.

Dinner is whatever - fish, chicken with carbs and veg of some sort or pasta or a curry.
Dessert is a yogurt.

And finally maybe some dark choc (75/80%) for snack.

Also at break time any biscuits or snacks that are in the staff room

It’s all too individual. If I ate like you I would be really fat and always hungry. It’s far too many carbs for me.

I eat high protein, moderate fat and low carb. I do protein priority diet to stay slim otherwise I’d be back at 19 stone.

Also cup of coffee in the morning, Earl gray while making dinner and herbal tea in the evening with my chocolate.

I would be thrilled if I ate that in a day!! I would be ashamed to write down what I eat! I might steal this list :)

I eat anything, varies each day, but very rarely snack on anything.

Today
Breakfast: fried egg on toast, grilled tomatoes.
Lunch: ham and cheese toasty. Gherkin. Satsuma
Dinner: halloumi, spinach and chickpea curry with rice

lazylinguist · 07/11/2021 19:30

Today - rice cakes and avocado for breakfast, chicken and vegetable soup with baguette and an apple for lunch, about to have roast chicken thighs and roast veg with homemade pesto for dinner.

I vary with how good I am at resisting unhealthy snacks etc, but I always eat plenty of veg. I need to drink more water though!

shellstarbarley · 07/11/2021 19:31

I have at least one 250 ml glass of ocean spray cranberry juice a day. As well as half an avocado with salad for lunch and half a punnet of blueberries throughout the day. All superfoods.

Taoneusa · 07/11/2021 19:34

Today

Earl grey and about 8 biscuits

A hard boiled egg with pickled onion and smoked hummus

Cup of coffee with oatly cream

A vegan protein bar

Fake bacon and fried tomato sandwich/es for supper.

Taoneusa · 07/11/2021 19:36

Oh..to stay healthy… I forgot the second part of your query, Op. Grin

MissyB1 · 07/11/2021 19:38

I do 16/8 fasting. So nothing to eat before midday for me.
Midday - bowl of porridge with chopped fruit and mixed seeds.
Mid afternoon- yogurt and piece of fruit.
Dinner - home cooked meal, typically a casserole/ curry/ pasta / risotto
No food after 8pm only water.

I drink tea / coffee/ water through the day.

QueenofDestruction · 07/11/2021 19:39

Breakfast oatbran, or eggs or a green smoothie
Lunch : salad, soup or sushi
Snack: piece of fruit, boiled egg or vegetable broth
Dinner: meat, some veg and a carb eg spinach turkey curry with brown rice

ScribblingPixie · 07/11/2021 19:44

I don't have great digestion so I try to eat a lot of iron & greens otherwise I get anaemic. So today I put molasses on my porridge & banana and had liver, bacon & broccoli for dinner plus a beef & veg soup with sourdough for lunch.

TomAllenWife · 07/11/2021 20:00

I do 16/8 too (or thereabouts)

Protein yoghurt about 11am

Salad with tuna / salmon / egg
Or soup
Handful of almonds

Dinner can be curry or chilli with cauli rice, a casserole, lettuce wraps with turkey mince or chicken fajita

I might treat myself to a Jaffa cake with a cuppa

WensleydaleCrumbs · 07/11/2021 20:06

Today has been a very lazy day food wise!

Cinnamon swirls for breakfast with a latte
A chunk of Wensleydale for a snack with a couple of crackers
Salmon and Prawn Sushi for lunch (with half a large bar of Fruit and Nut!)
Prawn pad thai for dinner.

I need to get my arse into gear and get back into the meal planning routine. I've fallen off the wagon and it's getting harder and harder to get back on it! I did 16:8 for 7 months and it was amazing, I just need to get that mindset back again.

Showmetheworld · 08/11/2021 20:08

I really love food and hate restriction so try to focus on a balanced diet of whole foods but probably too many carbs/fat at times.

Breakfast: bircher muesli/homemade granola with greek yoghurt, nuts/seeds and apple or whatever fruit is in season. Sometimes baked porridge in winter.

Snack (if I can’t wait until lunch) rice cake with cream cheese/hummus and some kind of herbal tea (mint, rooibos, etc).

Lunch: often leftovers from the night before. Currently enjoying homemade soup (lentil and tomato or minestrone), roasted veg and wholewheat pasta with harissa and capers mixed through, some kind of rice/protein/roasted veg bowl. Poached eggs and beans on toast when I can’t be bothered!

Dinner: mostly fish and veggie but we eat meat a couple of days a week. I usually cook either a tray bake or some kind of one pot creation, usually rotating carbs e.g. pasta, rice, potato, noodles, bread. I try to make every meal count nutritionally so add greens, chickpeas, butterbeans etc. to even the most beige meals!

Pudding: square of dark chocolate or medjool date stuffed with PB.

Pizza and ice cream at the weekend or out for a Sunday roast and pudding 😀

Powerpotpie · 08/11/2021 20:25

Breakfast - Avocado on Sourdough toast
Followed by Smoothie made with Kefir, kale, celery, frozen berries and ginger.

Dinner was roasted Brussels, cauliflower, new potatoes with puy lentils with lots of olive oil, garlic and lemon juice.

Snacks walnuts and a big slice of pecan roulade 😄

Sprostongreen21 · 08/11/2021 20:39

I’m home recovering from one of the crappy viruses so not completely as healthy as I would normally but what’s in the fridge/kitchen or what I take on a 12 hour work shift.

Should note I don’t believe in cutting out food groups just balance and a little bit of what you fancy.

Breakfast: protein yoghurt, strawberries and blueberries.
Snack: tangerine
Lunch: chicken and veg soup and a roll. Space raiders.
Snack 2 choc biscuits with a coffee.
Tea chicken, potatoes. Sweetcorn and peas.
I don’t eat after tea @6pm

Lots of water, couple of coffees and peppermint tea.

hamstersarse · 08/11/2021 20:45

Today is a window into what I usually eat:

Black coffee and pint of water for breakfast

3 scrambled eggs with cheese and bacon for lunch

Rib eye steak with creamy pepper sauce and Brussels sprouts in butter

Handful of peanuts while cooking dinner as had been swimming and it always makes me ‘snacky’ even though I don’t usually snack.

sunshinedaysp · 10/11/2021 12:54

Today

Breakfast: scrambled egg, spinach, advocado and mushrooms.

Lunch: lots of veg, tuna steak

Dinner will probably be something light like cous cous and salad.

PollyWobbles · 10/11/2021 12:55

Depends if I'm being 'good' or not SmileGrin

On a day like today ...

A smoothie made with cashew milk, oats, banana and mango

Mint tea
Watermelon juice

Whole meal wrap filled with salad and rainbow veg fritters

Dinner will probably be noodles with veg
