Freezing birthday cake?

Cake filled with fresh buttercream and jam. It’s covered in fondant icing. Majorly over ordered when it came to the size of the cake 🙈 everyone has had plus taken a chunk home and I still have a whole tier uncut 😬

How long with the uncut tier stay fresh? If I do cut it can I slice it and freeze the slices?

Uncut tier might stay fresh up to a week depending on the quality of the cake and how you store it, the fondant keeps it air tight. You can freeze the whole tier or freeze it in chunks or slices, you need to wrap it well in cling film then a plastic bag, and when thawing it leave it in those and don't touch the icing until its completely thawed. Last better in a deep freeze than a fridge/freezer or upright one.

@Garman - that’s great, thanks. It’s been sliced and all wrapped well and frozen so we’ll see how it does 🤞🏼
