McCain fries stink

Sorry, not a ‘foodie’ question, but has anyone else noticed McCain fries really pong bad? I’ve not noticed it before, but my most recent bag absolutely stink, it’s so weird.

Yes they smell like manure

I've noticed that lately with various brands. They smell like a cow field! I thought it was just me.

Frozen chips have had a weird smell since about 2001. I used to love them but not now.

Yes, but Asda own ones are the worst, even ds came in the kitchen the other week while they were cooking saying what is that horrible smell!

They smell like manure. It’s disgusting!!! McCain definitely smell the worst.

Waitrose crisp and fluffy are lovely. They are great big chunks of chip. I miss fries. I might see what Waitrose ones are like.

It makes me feel a bit better knowing that I’m not the only one! I’ll give the waitrose ones a try. I love fries with a burger rather than fat chips, but I feel a bit queasy remembering that smell.

Yes ! I’ve always thought this and they taste unpleasant too

They also taste like wood.
