Food processor recommendations please!!!

I need a food processor for chopping, shredding and blending. I am considering a kitchen aid, a magimix or alternatively, the food processor attachment on the KA stand mixer (I am thinking I could use the attachment to chop items into mixing bowl then use mixing attachment to mix into pates etc - would that work?). There is also the thermomix that I’m half considering but not sure it would be worth it. Any thoughts on any of these and whether the KA attachment would be enough?

This thread is fairly old now, but if you've landed here looking for recommendations, we've recently updated our best food processor page with the models MNers love, including advice on choosing the right one. We hope it's helpful.

Kenwood multi chef is what you need. It also has a blender

I second this!

Magimix. I have one that’s nearly thirty and still going strong. Have Kenwood Chef too as mixer. Use both regularly.

I just replaced my Kenwood blender today. I bought the newer glass version. I have had my machine since I was 21. I am now 51 and it's had a lot of use. The only reason I had to replace this part is as dd tried to blend full frozen bananas and it cracked the side which was plastic.

When I went to order the part, I was so pleasantly surprised to see some new ones (Prospero is one of them from memory) which comes with loads of attachments. I am thinking of buying one for dd for when she makes her way out into the world.

It's probably the appliance I have used the most.

I have a KitchenAid one which I love. It was a gift, but I was researching before and in addition to the KitchenAid, I liked the look of the Sage and Magimix food processors, but have no experience with them.

@mdh2020 @mrswidgeryslodger thank you, I am trying to take a look at it but I can’t find a multichef on google. You know the model number at all?

If you're looking for a stand mixer get a Kenwood Chef with the food processor attachments. If you just want a food processor/blender jobby I mistyped and meant the MultiPro not the Multi Chef (Apologies - I bake a lot so went for a full Chef stand mixer with the various attachments)

Ah okay thank you, that makes sense. I already have a kitchen aid stand mixer. So I was thinking perhaps the KA food processor attachment might be enough, it sounds like you have something similar which is good to hear as I wasn’t sure if that would be enough to replace a full separate processor.

Has anyone got a magimix cook expert?

I have a Magimix Cook expert and I absolutely love it!

Would highly recommend Sage by Heston B, best bit of kit, gets used almost daily. All the attachments live in a well designed container so no danger of slicing off fingers whilst rummaging for chopper blades. So so sharp mind, all components excellent quality.

I got a magimix about 5 years ago and it’s brilliant. Well worth the 💵

DoItAfraid · 17/05/2022 12:39

Kenwood all the way.
