Spanish menu

I'm hosting my family on Christmas Eve and have decided to do a Spanish menu.

All I've got so far are a chicken paella and a seafood paella, followed by churros and chocolate sauce.

I'd like it to be a bit more than this. There are only six of us but we'll be together from around 3pm so I'd like to have a sort of grazing table going on in the background. I was thinking of serving tapas around maybe 5pm and then the paella around 8pm. Not massive portions of anything but I would like to make an occasion of this as its the first time we've ever been out of the family home for Xmas Eve (always go home to the parents house!)

Any suggestions for what I could make and serve - both food and drink?

Chorizo in cider. I make it for friends all the time (I'm veggie myself).

A packet of mini chorizo (usually at the bottom of the fridge section in my Sainsburys) or a big one sliced in 2cm slices, cook in half a bottle of cider with a couple of bay leaves for about 15 minutes until the cider has reduced down by half. Serve with bread to mop it up.

Squid with aioli

Paella is enough but you could could add some fried chorizo if you wanted to, in cider or red wine depending on region.

Embutidos!

Can you buy a few cured meats - diet, chorizo etc and chop them up. Also manchego, olives.

Or look into “pintxos” it’s the new trend for tapas and easier finger food. Txaka is nice - grated crabsticks mixed with mayonnaise piled on a slice of bread and garnished with a single prawn.

For pudding I’d recommend basque cheesecake.
