I appear to have inherited an instant pot from a friend who has moved overseas and isn't coming back.

Are they any good? What can I do with it, please?

JAMAICAN OXTAIL STEW

No stir risotto
That's all
Sling it all in - I don't even bother frying off the chicken first.

Actually that's not all - I do stew in it as well as gammon. I do boiled eggs too.

It's not so much the speed for me - it can take a long time to come up to pressure and pressure release - but the fact that it's in a pot and can look after itself.

Risotto is so easy and fast in the IP.
I make yogurt in mine over night.
Use it to prove dough.
It makes a lovely baked cheesecake
Hard boil 12 eggs in minutes.
Make chicken stock
Use it a slow cooker
Use it as a rice cooker
Use it to cook swede which takes FOREVER in a normal pan but only 10 mins in the ip

@Sosomego - I use the 24hour yoghurt setting for the first rise, with a glass lid. It's a little quicker than a room temperature rise, but not by much - just more consistent.

@Titsywoo Mine didn't have a searing option

I have one and love it.
I like that I dont have to hover over the cooker and I think everything tastes so much better than in a slow cooker.

I didn't know I could make clotted cream in it. That could be dangerous. Love the stuff.
