Bread maker recommendations?

I got up early to make a loaf of bread this morning and it's reminded me of how much I love fresh bread. The whole process is so tedious I rarely bother. Does anyone have a bread maker that they really love and could recommend? Panasonic alone seem to have 500 different models and I'm getting a bit lost! We don't need it to do anything fancy like make jam or yoghurt. Just white, whole meal and seeded bread with a timer so we can wake up to fresh bread.

If you’ve landed here looking for guidance on baking bread at home, we’ve recently updated our best bread maker page with plenty of high-quality options recommended by Mumsnet users, including both basic and high-tech models. We hope you find it useful.

Just following as we were gifted one that we've never really mastered. Would love a simple, good bread maker.

I went on an extensive Google hunt and decided to buy the Panasonic sd-r2530kxc. Not the cheapest but I gave it a whirl last night and woke up to a lovely French loaf (pain de campagne) from their recipe book this morning. Not the prettiest loaf but really delicious. 12 hours later and the crust is still crunchy too so fingers crossed it's still good tomorrow.

I think this purchase might not be so good for my waistline. DH has his eye on a recipe for doughnut dough he wants to try this weekend.
