Which instant coffee?

Once again I've thrown away some ground coffee as it had gone bad (tasted awful) as I rarely drink it, I use a cafeteria.

What instant coffee would people recommend for someone who drinks it about once a month, but still enjoys something decent?

BTW, please don't recommend some fancy coffee machine, I've neither the space, inclination or budget to get one.

I love a good barista coffee, but at home I use Alta Rica, with two spoons in a mug. Strong coffee flavour without being bitter.

Have you thought about coffee bags? I use coffee bags as the taste of instant now turns my stomach…. They are all foil sealed so don’t go off and you use them just like a tea bag. I bought the yellow ones in Home bargains last week or buy them in bulk online as I drink a lot of coffee! Bloody lovely xxx

I really like the Nescafé Alta Rica as well.

Espresso powder. You can use it in baking as well, so it's a win all round.

I used to keep coffee in the freezer when I used enough to warrant using a cafetière.

Now I cba but I use coffee bags too which work really well.

@Ifailed the boxes I had from home bargains were £1.49 for 18 bags..:. Best before date is jan 2023. I bought 10 boxes as the price was good…. I usually buy a box of 150 from Amazon for £25 and that lasts me about three months.

Taylor’s do them too but I find them very strong. I prefer the Lyons brand. You can get them in Sainsbury’s too x

The coffee drinkers in our house like Alta Rica or the similar one from Aldi.
