Can I use a jar of curry sauce as a marinade?

Trying to use up some of the stuff in the cupboard but do something slightly different. Do you think tikka masala sauce from a jar would work as a marinade for paneer and veg skewers? Then I could serve with the rest of the sauce and some rice.

I've done made a marinade before and then used a jar of sauce, but I'm out of yogurt and in need of a spice drawer re-fresh.

Don’t see why not

Yes, I've done this.

Putting it in to marinade now. Will report back!

It worked really well! I added a bit of cumin, turmeric and ginger to the sauce, used half the jar for the marinade and served the other half on the side.

I was coming on to say it sounds like a good idea, I especially like the idea of adding spices. Glad it worked well. I might have to try it.
