What is a largish ramekin?!

I'm attempting to make these for my toddler and towards the end of the recipe, it says to spoon the mixture into eight "largish" ramekins. Ramekins seem to come in all shapes and sizes - what kind of dimensions do you think I need to buy to make these? Confused

Something about this size maybe?

About the size of the new smaller wagon wheel, I reckon.

Think about roughly what size portion your toddler will eat and buy ones around that size.

The ones you linked to look fine, I reckon.

Thanks!

Also how would you freeze shepherd's pie - can I just put it in the freezer in the ramekin or will it need covering in some way?

I'd put the ramekin into a freezer bag before putting it in the freezer. If it's a large freezer bag you can probably get a few of them in together.

Thanks @DramaAlpaca! Sorry, one more thing - am I OK to defrost them then reheat in the oven? (Asking as I don't own a microwave!)

Personally I would make something out of tin foil to freeze/cook them in so that I feel less defeated when they don’t eat them. Last time I bought ramekins the only ones in the shop were a fiver each, which is colouring my opinion.

Yes, defrost overnight in the fridge.

(This is making me feel hungry!)
