Joseph, Joseph Rice Cooker

So I treated myself to a Joseph, Joseph microwave rice cooker and cannot cook rice in it?!?
Tried using the cup measurements that came with it and the ones on the side of the packet, following recommended times and stand time and my rice is rubbish.
It's either hard or sticky or just generally rubbish, what am I doing wrong? Microwave is 800W and I'm using Tesco own basmati white rice.
Please help 🤦🏻‍♀️

I've got one, & love it.
I rinse & soak basmati rice. The measuring cup PLUS 1/3 cup of rice weighs 300g - easier than holding the thing up to the light to read it.
After draining the rice, I add a little salt + 150 ml of water, cook for 10 minutes, stirring halfway through. (Not sure of the wattage of my mic.)
I don't bother to let it stand, it's fine as it is. I sometimes add nigella, cumin, or caraway seeds

Thanks so that's 300g rice 150ml water for 10 mins. I've done 1/3 cup rice, 2/3 cup water for 12 mins and it's still hard. Need few more goes before it ends up in charity bag. Thanks for reply 👍🏻

I have one and I love it. Follow the instructions, but for two people I do 2/3 cup of Basmati, 300ml water, 10 mins (as pp says)

It's so foolproof that I wonder if your microwave is on the blink?

Maybe it is the microwave!?! I'll have to try in another one 👍🏻

I love mine too. I put boiling water from the kettle in it to reduce the cooking time (although that’s not what the instructions say)

300g is the weight of rice plus cup. Do you rinse & soak the rice ?
