Jamie Oliver - Together, Anyone bought the book ?

Has anyone bought the cookbook ? quite a few 1 star reviews on Amazon.

I loved the Lamb dish he made on the first episode of the show and would love to try it, except I can't stand the taste of fennel, nor would I like a sweet sauce to accompany it.

Any good alternatives to Fennel if I do try to follow it from the TV show.?

I usually borrow a cookery book from the library before deciding whether to buy it.

However, reading the reviews I don't think I'll even borrow it !

I had a quick flick though it at the supermarket and, although I'm enjoying the series, I don't think there's anything new enough in the book to inspire me to buy it. I have lots of his other books which I do use.

No. The man seems to always have a new book out and I have never really cooked anything from the Jamie ones I have bought.

This is interesting. I'v been enjoying the show and am keen to buy the book as it's a lot easier to get the recipes written down. I did find his last two books a bit disappointing, but to be fair to him, I use his books more often than almost any other because there are always a few very useful, handy guides .And he's v good at good ideas.

I have downloaded the sample to my Kindle but haven't had a chance to look at it yet.

I think I probably have the majority of his books, LOVE some, never use others, but this doesn't appeal for some reason, which I'm surprised about!

I wish i hadn't bought it.

I like to watch him but his books have never appealed to me. I like a cook book that has been written too, iykwim.

I'm making the pork tacos this weekend though, found recipes easily online. His website is great for quick inspiration.
