6oz marg
6oz dark brown sugar
6oz golden syrup
8oz tinned tomatoes (trust me)
2 eggs
2 tablessppons marmalade
12oz plain flour
2 teaspoons ground ginger
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon bicarb

melt butter sugar and syrup
mix tomatoes eggs marmalade in small bowl
Mix flour spicces bicarb in large bowl, add syrup mixture and tomato mixture, beat like mad
greased lined 9" square tin or 10" round one
130C 1 1/2 hrs
cool in tin 10min then turn out

Oh great - thanks. I add tomato puree to everything. I take the tinnies keep it moist and give it more depth? I did some searching on MN but yours sounds fabby! [bigyumemoticon - like pacman]

4oz marg/butter
2 tablespoons golden syrup
4oz sugar
8 floz milk
1 teaspoon bicarb
1 egg beaten
1 dessertspoon ground ginger
8oz SR flour

Melt sugar butter treacle
add milk with bicarb in
add egg
add ginger and flour
mix like mad
greased lined 8" square tin
175C 45min
