Dairy-free recipes for a breadmaker

desperate4spring · 12/09/2021 16:42

I have been given a breadmaker as a gift but my daughter is allergic to dairy and all of the recipes in the instruction manual have skimmed milk powder in them.

Can anyone recommend any alternative recipes please or suggest where I might look?

I've never put skimmed milk powder in. You can use butter, but I usually replace with olive oil so do that and skip the milk.

I originally had a Panasonic which always said butter& milk powder. My latest (now quite old!) Panasonic has no milk powder in the recipes & I use olive oil. No difference in the bread that comes out. Just leave it out.

As above, you can leave it out or I buy either soy or coconut milk powder from Amazon and use that instead, plus use oil or dairy free spreads instead of butter.

I just use oat milk instead of water plus milk powder. Works fine.

My DPs used to leave the milk powder out of their bread when they made it. I didn't need to do that because there was none in the recipe. I also use pure margarine instead of butter and that works fine.
