Baking scones frozen raw

My impression is that there is a slight loss of quality because you get a thicker crust when you bake them from frozen. Do you agree?
Do you have any tips on the freezing and baking process that would produce the perfect scone?

I have successfully baked scones then frozen them on the day they were made. Defrost, warm in oven or microwave and serve. They have butter, jam or cream on so that helps.
The perfect scone would be made, cooked and eaten on the same day.

You’re right, of course. Although I have seen claims that baking from frozen is just as good, but that’s not my experience. It has the advantage that you can then refreeze and reheat if they don’t all go on the day, though. Thanks

They don't take long to defrost so just take them out 20 minutes before you want to put them in the oven. I do it regularly and they taste the same

Thanks,@lanbro.
I will give that a go!
