What are your go to autumn recipes?
I’m thinking stews, cinnamon cookies, French toast, soups?!

I’d love to make something lovely with pumpkin but everything I’ve tried has not been a hit with the family
Also what do you do with those little mini pumpkins?!

Mushroom stroganoff
Sweet potato curry, loaded sweet potato skins,
Lots of recipes with butternut squash. I do: butternut and sage risotto, Chilli-stuffed butternut, butternut macaroni cheese etc…
Also, apple pie, blackberry and apple crumble, sausage and apple traybake, baked apples, Dorest apple cake etc…,

Apple pie, also apple crumble and apple cake.
Pumpkin bread with choc chips.
Some Scandinavian recipes for pastries I saw on Pinterest.
Soups and breads.
Slow roasted pork shoulder for pulled pork. I want to make pork tamales this year.

My mum used to make the double-crust pumpkin pie recipe from Elizabeth David’s French country cooking. It’s the only pumpkin pie I like:
Filling
1lb pumpkin
2oz sugar
1 teacup fresh cream
20 prunes
2oz butter
cook the pumpkin to a purée in the butter, add the other ingredients and when cold put it in the pie.
I wouldn’t be surprised if my mum soaked the prunes in brandy, but it isn’t in the recipe.

And bake, obviously

This isn't helpful but my sons love the little Pumpkins and draw eyes on them as keep as pets Grin We bought a few yesterday

Jokes aside - Eve's pudding and pork with homemade apple sauce.

I assume you just half or quarter, deseed and roast the little ones. If that doesn’t work then they must be ornamental.
It was a great day when I found out you can eat the skin of squashes so I expect the little pumpkins are the same…They must be quite fiddly otherwise. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

I cut lid off little ones , scoop out inner , stuff with veggie chilli or anything really ! Pop lid back on and bake , the grey blue ones are lovely, going to grow next year ! X

I love this pasta sauce recipe - you could probably find a nice one with sage too.
