Children’s birthday cakes from 80s

Hi! My mum used to have a wonderful recipe book for children’s birthday cakes, probably from the 1980s. All I can recall is that it was a white cover. Recipes I remember are- tractor cake, figure of 8 racetrack cake, cuckoo clock, hedgehog. I would love to figure out what this book was so I could get a copy for my children’s birthdays! Does anybody remember this book!? Thank you!

Oh also i think there was a princess cake that looked a bit like a toilet roll doll! It had a Barbie in the middle!

Yep, sounds like Women's Weekly. Cover is different but it definitely includes all those cakes (I still have it!)

doesn't show it with a white cover in the link, but if you google 1980 birthday cake book, it does show a white cover with the tractor on.

The cover really doesn’t look familiar but you are all right it surely must be the women’s weekly one having googled the cakes! Makes me so nostalgic. Now I’m going to try pick a copy up! Thanks everyone

It was probably by Jane Asher who was the queen of 80s Children’s parties including dressing up costume ideas!

Oops, just looked through my copy of the one I linked to and it doesn't have tractor or hedgehog cakes, so maybe a different version. Has all the other cakes you mentioned though.

I immediately thought of this one, which I'm sure contained all the cakes you mentioned above. Might have to ask my DM if she still has it actually, so I can make them for my DDs' birthdays!
