Wonder if anyone could help me out here. Been to the Good Food Show this weekend and saw Gordon Ramsay cook this soup, it smelt and looked delish, I believe it is from a book called Fast Food? If anyone has the book handy could they please, please, please post the recipe as I would love to make it for lunch.

Thank you in advance to any of you lovely people who can help.

Anyone? I'm about to pop out to the shops so might just have to make it up as I go along.

I know this is late but :

225g chorizo, skin removed
3 tbsp olive oil, plus extra to drizzle
2 red onions, peeled & finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, peeled & very finely sliced
few thyme sprigs
2 x 420g cans butter beans, drained & rinsed
sea salt & black pepper
squeeze lemon juice
large handful flat parsley, roughly chopped

Chop chorizo into small bite size pieces. Put kettle on to boil.

Heat olive oil, in heavy based saucepan & add onions, garlic & thyme. Cook, stirring, for 2 mins, then add chorizo. Stir over high heat for a few mins until oil has taken on reddish-golden hue from chorizo.

Tip in beans and pour in just enough boiling water to cover. Bring to a simmer and cook gently for about 10 mins.

Season generously with s & p and add squeeze of lemon. Scatter over parsley and ladle into warm bowls to serve.

thanks Catsmother - I saw Godon cook this too - and wanted the recipe. Mrs Spoon, when were you there - I was there yesterday, went to the last show of the day.

Ha! I was there too on sun - saw the 11.30 show
Wasn't he f**king fab!!

Do you think you could puree this soup? My kids won't like the texture, but will like the flaour

I enjoyed the demo a lot!

Don't see any reason why you couldn't puree the soup, or at least the portion you give the DC.

Fab, thanks catsmother, I'll write it down (going to buy the book but the soup looked so scrummy). I did make the soup but missed the thyme, lemon juice and flat leaf parsley as I had forgotten about them but it was still very nice!

PandaG and popmum I was at the 2pm show! It was fab, most touching moment was a proposal in the middle of the show, Gordon asked for a boyfriend/girlfriend set of volunteers (it must have been preplanned) and this couple were down on the stage, next thing he was muttering into the microphone and then threw himself down on one knee, whipping out a ring at the same time! Girlfriend said yes, Gordon opened the champagne sprayed it all over the stage, served some to the couple then promptly slipped and fell! Gordon then offered them free dinner at Claridges on their honeymoon.
