My ds 5 is a fussy eater. I'm mentally preparing for back to school time, we both work ft so need to be prepared. We use slow cooker and meal plan but ds often wont eat what we and other dc eats. I cant be bothered to do 2 meals. He has a mix of school dinners and packed lunches.
Anyone else in same situation? Do you give sane food and a then something they like too?

My view is that I don’t serve up poison and they are lucky to get a warm meal at all, so there’s no alternative. They can take it or leave it. If they choose to leave it, I give them a glass of milk before bed and sometimes a piece of bread and butter so they can at least sleep without feeling hungry, but otherwise they can wait until breakfast. They won’t die of starvation.

I have a toddler so slightly different but he doesn’t eat much at dinner time no matter what it is. What I do is make sure breakfast and lunch are good and filling because he’ll eat then (things like soup usually) and then dinner is more of a light tea. Whatever we’re having and include something he likes. For example we had omelettes for dinner last night and I served it with some cheese and toast on the side so he ate that. If all else fails I offer cereal before bed.

Thanks. @temple29 we use to do this. He loves cereal so would hang out for that! He does have breakfast at home but lunch at school and then after school club snack too so I think @Ricekrispie22 I'm going with your attitude. Good idea about the milk or piece of bread too I think that will fill hom if needed but it's not something he loves which us good.
